For the 10th year in a row, the International Festival of the Aegean will take place in July 2014, in the beautiful opera house of Syros, the ‘Apollo’ Theater, celebrating this year its 150th anniversary, reviving yet again the opera tradition of one of the first theaters of Greece. Built in 1864, the ‘Apollo’ Theater has staged many significant historical opera and melodrama performances during the ‘Greek Renaissance’ era of the 19th century.

While the theater will remain as the central venue of the Festival, also other public spaces of Hermoupolis city will be used as well, such as the majestic Miaouli square in front of the famous City Hall (a work of the distinguished architect Ernesto Chiller) and the Saint Nicholas Church in the ‘Vaporia’ neighborhood.
