The 10th Annual International Festival of the Aegean opens with Verdi's Rigoletto, celebrating the 150th anniversary of the Apollo Theater which opened with a performance of this opera on April 20, 1864.
An operatic masterpiece in three acts, based on Victor Hugo's controversial play “Le rois s'amuse” which premiered in 1851 in Teatro La Fenice, Venice, with exceptional success.
