MITRA Dance Theatre presents;

"THE GARDENS OF FAMAGUSTA"

The performance explores concepts of space, time and place in a surreal "Famagustian" universe. The city of Famagusta, is portrayed as a symbol of fertile and blossoming microcosm, that becomes the landscape in which the dancers and the actor recall the imagined past,in order to create parallel future possibilities.

About MITRA Dancetheatre

The company (established in 2012) is the artistic child of choreographer Marina Poyiadji and is based in Nicosia. It consists of the dancers Alice Evgeniou , Stella Eftichiou and Marina Poyiadji, actress Nayia Anastasiadou and visual artist Christos Avraam.

The company's name MITRA was inspired by the Greek word μήτραmeaning womb:the place in which something or someone is born. Metaphorically speaking MITRA is the place in which the artistic work is created.
