He continued his studies at the Hellenic Conservatory under K. Stamatopoulou and K. Kakalis. In 1984, he was admitted to the Athens Conservatory, next to Loukia Filipponi and, later on, next to Aliki Vatikiotis. In 1987 he participated in the 17th Panhellenic Kaiti Papaioannou Piano Competition, where he was awarded the second prize. He studied at the Santa Cecilia Music Academy in Rome (1989-1991) next to Emilia De Robertis, participating in various events of the Academy. In 1995 he received his piano diploma with honors from the Atenaeum Conservatory, once again under the guidance of Sofia Rosmarakis. In 1996 he attended modern composition and orchestration seminars at the Scuola Di Musica Di Testaccio in Rome, as well as seminars on acting, kinesiology and musical theater.
He started his artistic career, giving piano recitals and light music concerts. From 1997, he was won over by the stage and continued his theater and television career in Greece and Cyprus alongside great directors such as: Michalis Kakogiannis, Rob Ruggiero, Chet Walker, Kostas Tsianos, Stamatis Fasoulis, Manousos Manousakis, Vladimiros Kyriakidis, Petros Zoulias etc. performing repertory roles from ancient Greek poets to modern writers. Among his theatrical career, he has also emerged in the roles he has performed in some of the most important musicals that have been staged in Greece.
Efi Begni was born and raised in Salamina island. Her first contact with the visual arts took shape during her childhood, when she was learning beside her uncle, Mimis Antoniou, a well-known painter and self-taught graphic artist of that time.
When she was 13 years-old, her parents moved to Rome, where she learned the art of painting on porcelain under the guidance of Ms. Viola Margherita Galloni.
She is a graduate of Middlessex University of Athens (AKTO), where she studied graphic arts, receiving the Diploma of Highest University.
She has attended painting lessons with great artists, such as Fernando Fennes, and has worked in various workshops as a painter of ceramic and porcelain objects. In the recent years, she attended various seminars specializing on modern techniques of glass and porcelain painting, like the ones offered by professors Αntoinette Scherrer and Andreas Knobl, in Marilena Patronikolas’ school of arts.
In her workshop, she works on themes inspired by Nature. Each piece is unique no matter how many times its theme is being repeated. This is due to the fact that handmade art could never be mechanical or cold. Each work is a testimony of the artist’s inspiration, spirit and soul, depicting her love and passion for the delicate process of sketching, color mixing and baking.
She has taken part in many exhibitions in Greece and Italy. Nowadays, she presents her works online taking orders on personalized gifts.
