Pulsar Samothraki Art Festival 2024
In 2013, between Stavros Stavrakis and me, the idea occurred of a festival at Ergostasio, where the music we dream of listening to, would dominate. 10 years have passed since the first Pulsar in 2014 with dreams, wonderful collaborations, emotion and unique musical experience.
We welcome you this year to the «anniversary» Pulsar Samothraki Art Festival!
On Wednesday, August 7, representing the most renowned musical family of our country, the Xylouris family, but also a musician of the world, Giorgis Xylouris (Psarogiorgis) will present his solo "Sima sima" where the folk music of Crete and the rich influences settle down in his own personal expression and language.
On Thursday August 8, Echo Tides come to Ergostasio to narrate those new wave, synth pop, post punk dreamlike, poetic and catalytic surreal sci-fi stories, so much appreciated in their recent album "Andromeda FM".
On Friday August 9, our stage is shared: Nama Dama, music creator and performer from Nicosia, through her atmospheric soul-pop vocals, synths and folk elements, will seduce us with her one-woman show.
Back to our venue after 9 years, Melentini accompanied by her band, The Running Blue Orchestra, brings us the uniqueness of her voice, the avant garde, neo soul, electronic pop, set poetry and melancholic disco that characterizes her personal sound.
Finally, on Saturday August 10, Stringless, the six-member female vocal ensemble from Thessaloniki, come to charm us with their subversive soundscapes that include tradition and the Balkans, from Tsitsanis to swing and retro music, from Marinella to Strauss, from Kazantzidis to the operetta.

George Xylouris presents the solo "Simá simá" with Markos Pinakoulakis handling sound and sound interventions. George Xylouris was born in Anogia, a village in Crete with a long tradition of poetry, dance and music. From 1989 to 1997, he lived in Melbourne, where he formed the "Xylouris Ensemble" with musicians from different cultures.

Echo Tides
Echo Tides is a group of musicians that has been giving us original music since 2019.
Their sound … “ is born from our love for synthesizers and genres such as post punk but ends up tying in with its Greek verse and creating images that seem familiar but without stepping on specific forms. The melody and harmony have a primary role in the composition, while the noise and imperfections that capture the moment, are a component of the production, on the way to the goal: to be a warm embrace…. The lyrics deal with issues such as losses, frustrations, daily anxieties, the biggest anxieties, always through a path that seeks refuge in the relief of all the previous ones through the love that can exist between people.”
Giorgos Ligouriotis: Drums
Kalliopi Mitropoulou: Vocals
Johnny Anagnostopoulos: Bass / Synthesizers
Panagiotis Pantazis: Synthesizers / Sequencers / Vocals

Nama Dama
Nama Dama is the stage name of Cypriot-Ukrainian artist Anastasia Demetriadou. Growing up in a multicultural family in Cyprus, she developed a massive interest for folk music and storytelling. After getting her degree in English language & translation and a short teaching career, she decided to abandon it and return to her true love, music and performance art. She created her solo act in 2019. Her first songs were performed with only a piano and a voice in small venues in Cyprus. After releasing her first EP µConfessions to my Songbird,’ she decided to take up live looping and bring her one-woman act to the next level. Today, she uses her multitasking skills to create a new genre she calls Pagan Soul. An amalgam of pagan folk patterns and intense vocals, woven together with soul-pop vocals and electronic elements. Her performances have a colorful, ritualistic and theatrical character

Stringless
The female polyphonic group STRINGLESS is closely interested in the sound produced by the human body and especially the human voice which replaces all the musical instruments.
In their stage performances, STRINGLESS use music material from the Greek and non-Greek music tradition. It’s a musical journey from the mountains of Caucasus and Pindos to the soaring heights of the Black Sea and the Balkan peninsula. A significant part of their repertoire consists of songs that come from the multicultural background of the city where they live and perform, Thessaloniki, as well as operettas from the first decades of the 19th century, contemporary theatrical music, retro songs from the 30s and last but not least rebetiko, Tsitsani’s songs and famous music motives from the Greek movies of the 60s.
The music group STRINGLESS started performing in 2012 and since then, they have appeared in various music stages, theatres, festivals and artistic events in Greece and abroad.
